San José Mayor Matt Mahan today announced his appointment of District 9 Councilmember Pam Foley to the role of vice mayor, effective Jan. 28, pending a vote of the council. First elected in 2018, Foley’s experience “will be instrumental as the mayor and council prepare the budget for 2025-2026 while facing deficits,” according to a City Hall statement.
