SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — From businesses to homes, surveillance cameras are all around us.
That video can be important to detectives as they investigate possible crimes.
In a video sent to KELOLAND News, a white car can be seen pulling into an apartment parking lot in southern Sioux Falls, late Saturday night.
Three people get out of the car and approach a parked car.
KELOLAND News asked Sam Clemens with the Sioux Falls Police Department to take a look at the video.
“They’re spending a lot of time on this one car,” Clemens said.
Later in the video, the lights on the car start flashing, and then the headlights and tail lights stay on.
The group gets back in the white car and drives off.
Clemens says a detective believes the white car was stolen, and the group was trying to steal the parked car.
While they didn’t get away with it, the car was damaged.
“When we’re talking about these types of property crimes, it’s fast,” Clemens said.
Clemens says another car in the parking lot was also damaged.
