LUBBOCK, Texas – A West Lubbock neighborhood is on edge after a dog was found dead in a backyard last month, with the owner suspecting human involvement. Amanda Guzman believes her 2-year-old English Bulldog, Harley, was killed by a person, not another animal.
She has left her backyard untouched since finding her dog’s body, hoping to preserve any potential evidence.
“She was a good dog,” Guzman said.
Guzman’s neighbor, Tyler Brinson, discovered the dog’s lifeless body after noticing an injury to his dog. Brinson said his dog had a large incision on her abdomen, and when he checked Guzman’s backyard, he found Harley dead.
“The ear was ripped off like totally cut, like to the scalp. And it was like it was gutted from the bottom all the way to the top with all of its insides just straight out,” said Brinson.
Brinson believes the injuries were too severe to have been caused by a dog fight. He now suspects someone may be responsible for the death.
