The office of Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias is revealing the list of rejected personalized license plates in 2024. More than 300 vanity and personalized license plates were shot down after being deemed too obscene or defamatory. Illinois vehicle owners pay an extra for a new vanity or personalized plate. Currently, there are more than 811-thousand vehicles registered in the state with vanity or personalized license plates to Illinoisans.
