Airlines canceled more than 1,000 flights at North Texas airports ahead of Thursday’s forecasted winter weather. Before the day even started, 973 flights were canceled at DFW International Aiprort and 211 flights were canceled at Dallas Love Field.
At DFW Airport, American Airlines or its regional carriers, Envoy Air and SkyWest, canceled the majority flights with 786. Frontier had canceled 84 flights as of early Thursday and Spirit had canceled 84.
Five hundred seventeen of the canceled flights were outbound and 456 were inbound. The most affected destinations were Denver and Los Angeles, where 11 outbound flights were canceled, followed by Houston, New York LaGuardia, Shreveport, Las Vegas, Little Rock, and Wichita.
Of the cancelled flights at Love Field, 107 were outbound and 104 were inbound. They were all on Southwest Airlines. There were also 14 delayed flights early Thursday morning.
