Columbus, Ga. – Jordan’s wrestling practices are notorious for being tough. These know that the work they put in here will pay off during competition. The practices are split up either, but by going against bigger teammates the Lady Red Jackets embrace the chance to get better.
“Just being out there and practicing every day, being out there with someone who’s heavier or even better is just motivates us. One day I will be able to beat them. So when we’re out there on the mat we know what we’re doing,” said senior Janajah Banks.
“When you practice hard. It makes going out there so much easier because people who you practice with are already like competition enough. So when you actually go out there it’s not as hard,” said junior Alliyah Rone.
The hard work paid off once again for Jordan. This season the Lady Red Jackets won their third consecutive City Championship. While it’s not the first time to win the title, it’s still just as sweet.
“It’s amazing. I mean we come in there with like two wins and take the trophy back home to us. It’s just a team thing. It’s an honor to win the City Championship over and over again,” said senior Arrie Battle.
