Hard Rock Casino Rockford raked in $97.6 million in revenue in 2024 as it opened its glitzy permanent location at 7801 E. State St.
Despite closing for more than two weeks starting Aug. 12 as the casino transitioned to the big joint and out of the temporary location on Bell School Road, the Hard Rock made 41% more in revenue than the $69.1 million it did in 2023, according to data from the Illinois Gaming Board.
High note
Hard Rock collected $12.2 million in gaming revenue in December after winnings were paid out to gamblers, ending 2024 on a high note. It was its best month since opening the permanent location in September when gamblers lost $13.7 million. Monthly revenue totals on average at the nearly 180,000-square-foot casino resort are nearly double what they were at the temporary casino.
Slots rule
Like the other 15 casinos in Illinois, slot machines are the Hard Rock’s biggest revenue driver. The casino made 90%, or $87.9 million of its revenue, from its collection of nearly 1,300 slot machines that fill most of its 65,000-square-foot gaming floor.
