‘We are not done with this’: Fire danger still exists throughout Southern California

With the attention turned to Los Angeles, where the city is facing perhaps its greatest ever natural disaster crisis , residents of the other parts of Southern California should keep their guard up, weather experts warn.

Much of the region, including parts of Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura and San Diego counties are under a Fire Weather Warning until 6 p.m. on Friday, though there’s a possibility that the warning will be extended if winds don’t let up.

The problem, as explained by KTLA’s Henry DiCarlo, is that wind gusts of 50, 60, or even 70 mph in some places, combined with very low humidity, means that even the smallest of blazes could quickly spread uncontrollably…
