Cowgirls battle, but fall to Lobos

The Wyoming Cowgirls suffered their first Mountain West season loss last night, 73-67, to New Mexico. The game was played in Albuquerque. The home-standing Lobo remain undefeated in Mountain West games (4-0) and remain tied with UNLV for the league lead. The Cowgirls are now 2-1 in the MW and 8-7 overall.

The Cowgirls jumped out to an early 12-7 first-quarter lead, but New Mexico hit a shot at the buzzer to lead 16-15 at the end of the first quarter. The Lobos would increase their lead to 37-33 at the half break…
