WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The Warming Shelter at Grace United Methodist Church in downtown Wilmington broke its record for most guests served in a single night.
On Thursday night, the third day of a more than week-long stretch of being open, the Warming Shelter had at least 140 people staying overnight. To put that in perspective, they say just two years ago their average number of guests a night was around 60 to 70 people.
