Columbia Station man pleads guilty to attempted murder of woman

A Lorain County man has agreed to plead guilty to multiple charges connected to the stabbing of a woman at his Columbia Station home last year.

Court records show 47-year-old Shawn Poe on Tuesday admitted to accusations of attempted murder, felonious assault, domestic violence, and aggravated menacing. Poe’s trial was scheduled to begin on Jan. 21, but he will now be sentenced on Feb. 24.

It was the morning of April 23 when Lorain County sheriff’s deputies showed up to the Colfax Drive house and found a 42-year-old woman with “serious injuries.” She was eventually flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, but survived the attack…
