CANARSIE — 24-YEAR-OLD ANTHONY REGIS-ASH has been extradited from Trinidad and Tobago to Brooklyn, where he faces charges for the 2021 murder of 18-year-old Sharif Richards in Brooklyn. Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced the indictment on Monday, Jan. 6, on charges including second-degree murder, first-degree attempted robbery, and weapons possession. Regis-Ash was arraigned before Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Donald Leo and held without bail, ordered to return to court on Feb. 7. If convicted, Regis-Ash faces up to 25 years to life in prison. His girlfriend, Amari Harvey, 24, was arrested in January 2022 while trying to flee to Trinidad and Tobago and faces similar charges.
