Ascension Parish community donates blood for New Orleans terror victims

GONZALES, La. (BRPROUD) — Louisiana communities continue to show support after the New Orleans terror attack.

In Ascension Parish, people are using their grief and blood to help victims.

“It hit so close to home, it’s shocking,” said Prairieville resident Jenny Bruno. “When we look at it as terrorism, it changes the whole perspective of how you take every step of every day.” Bruno was at the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office to give blood to people in New Orleans. “I’m B-negative, so I know that I’m a rare blood type, but, with the tragedy that happened in New Orleans, I can’t see why I would not donate,” she said.
