DENVER — Sabrina Gonzales called Steve On Your Side on Tuesday with a desperate plea: Her apartment hadn’t had reliable heat in months and said her complex wasn’t helping her with the problem.
Gonzales’ apartment complex, Grand Lowry Lofts, at 200 Rampart Way, had been recently cited by Denver’s Department of Public Health and Environment (DDPHE) for violating the city’s housing code, which requires heat to be able to reach at least 70 degrees inside housing units in the city.
A city inspector on Dec. 12 found ambient temperatures ranging from 63 to 66 degrees in three units inside Grand Lowry Lofts, a spokesperson for DDPHE told Steve On Your Side. The inspection resulted in a notice of violation – requiring the building to fix the problem or face fines…
