Palm Tran changing Port St. Lucie express route, seven others. Is your ride affected?

Palm Beach County’s public bus system, Palm Tran, will improve its Port St. Lucie express route for afternoon rush hour riders, but the trip will take longer. Seven other routes’ schedules also will be shifted by up to 15 minutes because road congestion has made it tough for them to stick to current times.

The downtown West Palm Beach-to-Port St. Lucie service will update its afternoon northbound schedule to run twice during the 5 p.m. hour. It leaves West Palm Beach at 5:50 p.m. and 6:50 p.m. currently.

Palm Tran changed the northbound afternoon trips to accommodate passengers getting off work, agency spokeswoman Janessa Croce said.

When going south, the bus will leave Port St. Lucie at 6:35 p.m. and 7:05 p.m. instead of the current 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. departures…
