As firefighters continue to battle multiple wildfires in Los Angeles County, keep them in your thoughts and prayers. According to the LA Times, the county remains under red flag warnings through Friday night. At least 10 people are dead, and nearly 10,000 structures have been destroyed, with an estimated $20 billion in insured losses.
The level of devastation is upsetting, with dozens of blocks of scenic Pacific Palisades flattened to smoldering rubble. In neighboring Malibu, blackened palm strands were all that was left above debris where oceanfront homes once stood. According to the Associated Press, metropolitan LA and its 13 million residents woke up Friday to yet another day of fire-stoking winds and the threat of new flareups.
