WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Dozens of Kansas veterans will get a letter from the Department of Veterans Affairs warning them that some of their information may have been sent to another VA patient. The VA says no Social Security numbers or sensitive identifying information was disclosed.
The letters are going to 49 veterans who have used the Dole VA Center in Wichita, 134 veterans at the Eastern Kansas VA, and 77 veterans at the Kansas City VA.
Across the nation, the VA’s Veterans Health Administration is sending notices to 1,838 veterans. Officials say the only identifying information that may have been divulged was the veteran’s name.

The VA says Xerox Corp., under contract to the VA, experienced a printing error on Nov. 18. The error caused appointment cards to go to the wrong patients.
