LSU has set its sights on a potential long-term quarterback in the 2026 class

When LSU lost Bryce Underwood late in the recruiting cycle it meant a few things for the LSU Football program. For starters, LSU lost its top overall recruit, and it led to LSU losing a few other pieces down the stretch. The loss also left a void in the program as Underwood was seen as the long term plan at quarterback which then left questions.

The Tigers have freshman Colin Hurley on the roster and they used the transfer portal to land freshman Michael Van Buren who was impressive this season at Mississippi State. The loss of Underwood meant that LSU needed to address Quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class which would’ve been tough with Underwood on board.

This summer, LSU was in contention for several top quarterbacks in the 2026 cycle but, with Underwood on board struck out. Now as LSU circles back in the class the Tigers may have found their target in Arizona State commit Jake Fette who LSU offered on Thursday…
