The police have released more information about what happened the night Destin Michael Ertel was killed while driving along U.S. Highway 12.
Ertel, a father of three from Montrose, died in a head-on collision at about 10:06 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, near Lake Haughey Road in Independence.
He died after his 2022 Kia Forte collided with a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Charles Darland of Bloomington. Police at the time said they did not know who crossed the median line…
