NORTH BEND – In a harrowing encounter on his drive home from Olympia, Republican State Representative Tom Dent of Moses Lake survived a severe car accident involving two deer on Interstate 90 near North Bend. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. last evening, when Dent’s Subaru collided with the animals, resulting in the death of the deer and the total loss of his vehicle. Dent says the animals jumped out in front of him, giving him only a fraction of a second to stop. Dent added that another car was next to him, which limited his ability to swerve.
Despite the significant damage to his car, Dent credited the vehicle’s safety features, including its high safety ratings and airbags, with preventing any personal injury. “My little Subaru absorbed the energy and the airbags kept me from being hurt,” Dent shared on social media following the accident. He added that he purchased the car specifically for its safety features, based on a recommendation from a friend—a decision he believes saved his life…
