If you are a Gen-X Yinzer, you might remember the name, Jay Rayvid on WQED-TV (13). Rayvid was frequently seen on the air during the seemingly-endless (in those days) pledge breaks with Margot Woodwell asking you to get mom or dad to come to the TV set because “this message is for them.”
If the name doesn’t ring a bell, you’ll likely recognize some of the programs he produced. When not hosting pledge drives, Rayvid was behind the scenes as an Emmy-winning executive producer for “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood”. Most of his works from there were for children and families to watch together.
