MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) — Clouds linger as the rain shifts east with highs struggling to hit 50 as we wrap up the workweek. A Wind Advisory is in effect for coastal zones S of I-10 until 6PM tonight. Southeast winds of 20-30mph are forecast with gusts up to 40mph. A High Surf Warning is also in place from 6AM Saturday as dangerously large waves of 7 to 9 feet are expected in the surf zone. A Gale Warning is also up until 6PM tonight with gusts up to 40 knots and seas building 8-11 ft. After the system clears, much calmer weather is in the forecast.
Another cold surge arrives this weekend. After starting Saturday morning near freezing we struggle to reach the upper 40s. Saturday night into Sunday morning, lows fall into the upper 20s with highs in the mid 50s Sunday afternoon. Skies will be bright both days this weekend. The risk of rain returns late Sunday night for about a third of the NBC 15 neighborhood, with stray showers lingering into Monday morning.
