State chooses contractor for waterway debris removal from Helene

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency has chosen a contractor to help remove debris from the state’s waterways following Hurricane Helene.

TEMA awarded Phillips & Jordan, Inc. the contract, which is part of a major recovery initiative aimed at restoring safety to rivers, streams and reservoirs that were significantly disrupted by the storm.

Helene brought heavy rainfall and flooding to East Tennessee and left massive amounts of debris, including trees, sediment and manmade materials in the waterways…
