Several juveniles taken into custody after ‘swatting’ calls

CLEVELAND (WJW) — Police in Newburgh Heights took several juveniles into custody Friday night following swatting calls.

According to the the police department, it happened near E. 44th Street around 10:15 p.m. and “lasted for several hours.”

Swatting is defined by 911.gov as “false reporting an emergency to public safety by a person for the intent of getting a (“SWAT team”) response to a location where no emergency exists.”…
