Image Theatre tackles classic ‘A Streetcar Named Desire,’ Jan. 17-Feb. 2

No regrets, but Imago Theatre ‘s Jerry Mouawad realizes how daunting it is to put on “A Streetcar Named Desire,” the iconic play of class conflict and sexual depravity by Tennessee Williams.

There is the complexity of the characters — the former Southern Belle and disillusioned Blanche DuBois, sister Stella, brother-in-law Stanley — living together in a cramped New Orleans apartment.

There is the sheer size of the play. It’s 179 pages…
