Man convicted in 2021 fatal shooting at Seymour gas station

SEYMOUR, Tenn. (WATE) — A Corryton man has been convicted in a 2021 fatal shooting at a Seymour gas station.

Sheldon Rosenbaum was found guilty of second-degree murder, especially aggravated kidnapping, aggravated kidnapping, four counts of aggravated assault, possession weapon convicted felon and possessing a firearm intent to go armed.

According to the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office, the altercation began at the White Star Market in Seymour on May 18, 2021 . Following the incident, Deputy Chief Michael Hodges told 6 News that a woman’s ex-boyfriend assaulted her and then shot her current boyfriend. The victim was taken to UT Medical Center hospital for treatment.

Rosenbaum fled the scene in a vehicle, but after a short pursuit he was taken into custody on Sevierville Road in Knox County.
