Jason Chen trial opens with chilling display of suitcase that contained victim’s remains

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — For the first time, we got a glimpse of the suitcase that prosecutors say Jason Chen stuffed the remains of the woman he’s accused of stabbing 60 times.

Chen’s attorney said in opening statements that Chen did in fact kill Jasmine Pace, but that he should be convicted on a lesser charge, claiming Pace’s death was a ‘crime of passion.’

Chen is charged with murdering 22-year-old Jasmine Pace the week of Thanksgiving in 2022, cutting up her body, stuffing her remains in a suitcase and dumping that suitcase along the banks of the Tennessee River…
