ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) – As crews continue to battle more than 20 catastrophic wildfires in Southern California, a Stillman Valley native with experience fighting such blazes says it’s anything but a small job.
“You are going to have your aviation resources doing either water or retardant drops,” said Sam Stone, who spent three years as a member of a hotshot crew in Northern California. “You’ll [also] have your engines and your hand crews.”
