AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT)- Amarillo City Council voted 4-1 to approve a resolution that considered approving amendments to Amarillo Economic Development Corporation’s Articles of Incorporation.
According to AEDC Attorney John Atkins, the biggest change to the amendments is that no line items can shift from a budgetary perspective without it going back to council. Atkins also recommended changing the document name from Articles of Incorporation to Certificate of Formation, as articles of incorporation is an antiquated term, according to Atkins.

Atkins also shared that the language regarding AEDC’s budget and budget request is not firm and will be left up to city councils’ guidance. Atkins shared that the reasoning behind this is that different councils may want more or less details regarding items within the budget.
