Houston firefighters meet Jay Leno while battling wildfires

HOUSTON ( KIAH ) — Firefighters from the Houston Fire Department who are in Los Angeles to help battle the wildfires there got a chance to meet a TV celebrity.

Jay Leno, the former host of The Tonight Show, greeted the Houston firefighters while driving a vintage 1941 fire truck, according to the HFD social media pages . Leno, who is a vintage car collector, is providing firefighters with four hot meals as they try to protect property from wildfires.

Firefighters around Los Angeles are preparing to attack flare-ups or new blazes. The National Weather Service issued a rare warning that dry winds combined with severely dry conditions created a “particularly dangerous situation,” indicating that any new fire could explode in size…
