SUMMERDALE, Ala. (WALA) – It was a cold start Wednesday morning in Summerdale but that didn’t stop students, parents, and staff from getting involved in walk to school day. They started at the gazebo and walked the rest of the way.
All to promote the need for walkable communities.
“We decided that this would be a great opportunity to try and get the community involved and to try and get our students actively involved in coming to school instead of in a car or on a bus. It’s a fun way to come to school. They get to visit with their friends. They get to skip and jump and get their heartbeat up. It just gets them excited to come to school every morning, so we’re really excited about it,” Cristie McKenzie said…
