PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) – The city of Pensacola will received a $5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to further spur on the construction of the Hollice T. Williams Stormwater Park and Underdeck and Community Connector Project, city officials have announced.
The grant comes from USDOT’s Reconnecting Communities Pilot Program.
With the funds, the Pensacola will be create more then just a stormwater collection system, city officials said. They say the project will remove the “under the highway” urban barrier beneath Interstate 110 and unite the Eastside neighborhood adjacent to the project area…
