Former Nashville assistant police chief accused of shooting, killing wife

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – An 87-year-old man who previously served as the assistant chief of police for the Metro Nashville Police Department in the 1960s is accused of shooting and killing his wife, according to an arrest affidavit.

Last week, John Sorace was charged with reckless homicide, according to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.

The affidavit states that first responders were dispatched to a home in Murfreesboro to reports of a woman who had been killed. The victim’s husband, Sorace, said that he woke up from a nap and found her lying on the floor near him…
