A 22-year-old Bloomington woman who said she was robbed by three men in the parking lot of her apartment building might have had her vehicle stolen had she been able to easily access her keys.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. Jan. 2 on the 1700 block of East 80th Street. The woman, who did not speak English, told officers that she was confronted by three males as she walked toward her vehicle, according to Bloomington Police Cmdr. Mike Utecht.
The woman noticed the trio by a trash bin as she walked toward her vehicle and had trouble understanding what they were saying as they approached her. She understood they were trying to rob her as they approached her. The trio appeared to be demanding her vehicle keys and her money. They took her identification and passport, her husband’s bank card and cash. But the woman was unable to retrieve her keys, and one of the males broke a window of her vehicle…
