PowerSchool hacked. Here’s how to protect your child

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A warning for parents and school employees: the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction says someone hacked personal information by breaking into the PowerSchool software system.

This affects all districts in our area and many more nationwide. PowerSchool is the website where parents can monitor grades.

Wednesday Guilford County sent e-mails to staff members and to families notifying them of the data breach. Just as other districts across our area have been doing for a week now…
