Texas Coffee School gives students double shots at becoming cafe owners

Coffee has always reminded Adriana Obando of the grounds where she grew up.

She spent her childhood in rural Colombia, constantly surrounded by far-stretching fields growing the country’s coveted coffee beans. Coffee farming was, and still is, the livelihood of her family and friends back home.

So when her hands grew stained with coffee grounds as she learned how to carefully grind beans to the perfect fineness needed for espresso, she said the formerly unfamiliar practice felt natural…
