In light of the upcoming Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the City of Tampa has announced alterations to its waste collection schedule to honor the federal holiday. City offices will close on Monday, to pay tribute to the civil rights leader’s legacy. Consequently, the customary trash collection routine for Tampa residents and business owners will experience temporary changes.
According to information from the City of Tampa’s official announcement, residential customers who typically receive Monday service are informed that their garbage, recycling, and yard waste will not be collected on MLK Day. Instead, they’ll have to wait until their next slated service day. Following the holiday, regular residential collection service is set to resume on Tuesday, without further interruption.
