Jasmine Pace’s family files wrongful death lawsuit against Jason Chen’s

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — With the murder trial of Jason Chen in its fourth day, our newsroom has learned that the family of Jasmine Pace has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Chen’s parents.

The lawsuit was filed in Hamilton County Circuit Court, and asks for $12 million in compensatory and $5 million in punitive damages, a total of $17 million.

According to the lawsuit, which you can read in full below, those damages include

…wrongful death, battery, and intentional infliction of severe emotional distress caused by the actions of defendant Jason Chen in murdering 22-year-old Jasmine Pace, and for civil conspiracy among Jason Chen and his parents, Min Yong Chen and Shu Fang Chen, in knowingly and unlawfully concealing the murder and unlawfully harboring Jason Chen” at their home in Nolensville, Tennessee…
