Ribbon-cutting ceremony to be held for Newport News Early Childhood Development Center

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – Newport News will be hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday afternoon for a new early childhood development center.

The ceremony is expected to take place starting at 1 p.m. at 1500 Jefferson Avenue. Several Newport News leaders, including Mayor Phillip Jones, City Manager Alan K. Archer, Councilwoman Tina Vick and Executive Director of Peake Early Childhood Center Dr. Jennifer Parish, will be in attendance.

According to a release, the Newport News Early Childhood Development Center will help to offer care and education to approximately 200 kids between the ages of six months to five years old throughout the peninsula.
