The Cedar Rapids Gazette Will End a 142 Year Tradition

The newspaper industry is a tough one to run in 2025. Many have fallen by the wayside over the past decades, victims of the internet, smartphones, and other forms of technology that have led many to deem the newspaper obsolete. Eastern Iowa has been home to the Cedar Rapids Gazette for over 100 years. During that time, a print version of the newspaper has been available in print every single day. That run is about to come to an end.

The Corridor Business Journal reports that the Cedar Rapids Gazette will soon change its print publication schedule, under which the newspaper will only produce a print version three days a week. Those days will be Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The new schedule will go into effect on…..
