Taunton man sentenced to 4 years in prison for trafficking oxycodone

TAUNTON, Mass. (WPRI) — A Taunton man will serve time for his role in a pill-trafficking conspiracy , according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

John Campbell, 41, was sentenced Wednesday to four years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay a $25,000 fine.

Campbell pleaded guilty last September to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute oxycodone pills, following an indictment in August 2023.

Prosecutors said that between July 2022 and June 2023, Campbell distributed large quantities of oxycodone pills, ranging from hundreds to more than 1,000 at a time. He sold pills to an undercover agent on at least four occasions and was overheard discussing prices and quantities during intercepted calls and text messages…
