SALINE COUNTY, Ark. — The Arkansas 911 board held its first meeting of 2025 on Thursday as board members met at the Saline County Emergency Communications Center, gathering with various county and city leaders to discuss January’s agenda.
One topic was left without a conclusion — Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) Consolidation for the City of Hot Springs and Garland County.
“We came up with 15 counties that there were multiple 911 centers that needed to be reduced down to ultimately reduce the number of 911 call transfers,” Arkansas 911 Board Executive Director CJ Engel said. “For Garland County [it] was identified to go down to one 911 center.”…
