Continuing an exploratory study to move the Naples Airport is on hold.
The Naples Airport Authority (NAA) board agreed Thursday to pause a study to consider sites and costs to move the airport. With new landing procedures just approved and Collier County commissioners again saying they aren’t interested in getting involved, the board says they should focus on reducing noise and not a move.
By consensus, the board in charge of the airport told Executive Director Chris Rozansky to stop any work on the exploratory study. Rozansky and Chair Rita Cuddihy – elected unanimously on Thursday – will make an appointment to meet with Naples Mayor Teresa Heitmann to discuss new information and the comments from the board on Thursday.
