Monroe County couple wins historic $7 million Cash4Life prize

WIND GAP, Pa. (WTAJ) — A quick trip for ice cream and donuts turned into a life-changing moment for a Monroe County family.

Stephan and Shana Juhasz, residents of Monroe County, claimed a historic $7 million Cash4Life top prize after purchasing the winning ticket at a GIANT Food Store in Northampton County.

The January 3 drawing marked the first time Pennsylvania has awarded the game’s $7 million lump-sum prize since joining the multi-state game in 2015.

Stephen, a fast-food general manager, shared how his wife’s spur-of-the-moment ticket purchase became the surprise of a lifetime. “I told her to scan the ticket on the PA Lottery app . As she’s reading the results to me, I said, ‘Can you read them to me again?’ As she’s reading, I screamed and ran out of work. I called my boss and told him I had to leave,” Stephen said.
