Walmart to work with police after 1,100 calls from Lebanon store in 2024 raise concerns

Lebanon police this week reported to council members that there were more than 1,100 calls for service at the local Walmart in 2024, which has led to some initial steps and planned discussions to address store safety moving forward.

The retail giant’s superstore anchors the Cedar Square shopping center on South Cumberland Street.

Walmart has just completed repairs to its parking lot lighting, according to a spokesperson. The repairs came after Lebanon Police Chief Mike Justice told city council members earlier in January that calls averaging approximately three per day were a drain on department resources that need “some attention.”…
