Coral Springs Man and Margate Accomplice Arrested After High-Speed Multi-County Chase

A high-speed chase across multiple counties resulted in the arrest of a Coral Springs man and his companion from Margate, who now face severe drug and evasion charges. According to NBC Miami, the incident occurred on January 9, when Gaspar Burnside, 25, refused to pull over for a traffic stop in Palm City. The chase involved the FHP and eventually the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, who had to disengage from the pursuit due to heavy traffic. However, authorities maintained aerial tracking and arrested Burnside after he fled his vehicle and tossed a bag containing illegal narcotics.

Burnside’s accomplice, Dquaan Judah Charles, 31, was arrested following a separate pursuit where he tried to flee on foot. An FHP trooper apprehended Charles after he ran into traffic, jumped over a tractor-trailer, and was eventually captured by an FHP K-9 unit. As reported by TCPalm, Charles faces charges including intent to sell, manufacture or deliver cocaine and cannabis among others, and is held on a $575,000 bond. Meanwhile, Burnside is held on a $745,000 bond for charges that include aggravated fleeing a law enforcement officer.

During the chase, law enforcement officials employed a PIT maneuver to curtail the escape, resulting in Burnside losing control of the vehicle and then proceeding to bail out. After his foot chase and attempting to escape through private properties, Burnside received treatment at Jupiter Medical Center following his apprehension. Found in the vehicle were multiple bags of marijuana, crack cocaine, and over a hundred pills, as detailed in the arrest report…
