TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The Fort Lowell Shootout, Southern Arizona’s largest youth sporting event, returns Friday evening, January 17, for its 35th year and is bringing more than 400 teams from across the western United States and Northern Mexico to compete in a weekend of soccer and festivities.
The tournament is hosted by RSL-AZ Southern Arizona Soccer Club. It starts with opening ceremonies at 6 p.m. at Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium. The celebration features the traditional Parade of Athletes, where thousands of young players march in themed costumes representing their clubs, followed by the Bob Foley Memorial Soccer Olympics.
