Wendy Williams Denies Disability Claims
Talk show host Wendy Williams has dismissed claims that she is permanently disabled. TMZ Executive Producer Harvey Levin recently spoke with Williams for 90 minutes and reported that she sounded like her usual self, without any signs of impairment. Levin and fellow host Charlamagne Tha God agreed that Williams did not appear disabled.
Williams has previously struggled with substance abuse, but Levin said she sounded sober during their conversation. This raises questions about whether her guardianship, which restricts her personal and financial freedom, is based on her medical condition or her past struggles.
Williams’ attorney, Roberta Kaplan, has stated that Williams has good and bad days. However, witnesses have observed her interacting lucidly on multiple occasions recently, including during interviews and conversations with Charlamagne Tha God.
Levin suggests that Williams may be better off with a sober coach and increased freedom, rather than remaining under a strict guardianship.
