Arrest made in armed robbery of $271K from Pennsylvania skill game cash outside Franklin County mall

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — Another arrest was made Friday in a robbery at a Franklin County shopping center last year where hundreds of thousands of dollars of Pennsylvania Skill Machine cash was stolen from security guards at gunpoint by three people.

Chambersburg Police said Friday Ceferino Hernandez, 49, of Reading, was arrested for his alleged role in the armed robbery of a van outside a business at the Southgate Mall in March doing cash pickups/drop-offs.

Around $271,000 in cash that was in cases was stolen in the robbery, according to a criminal complaint. Police previously only reported that there was a “large amount” that was stolen but not specifically how much…
