West Bridgewater dog trainer on mission to get DD the ‘Dumped Dog’ the home she deserves

WEST BRIDGEWATER — As soon as he saw her he wasn’t going to “drop her off at the pound.” Owner and Trainer of Apex K9 in West Bridgewater Shawn Flipp takes care of dogs all the time. That’s his job, but DD has been getting extra, extra treatment and there’s a reason why.

DD, which stands for “Dumped Dog,” was tied to a pole and left there by someone on the evening of Dec. 30. Flipp got a call during his night off from one of his client’s, who was listening to the scanner and heard about a dog that was tied to a pole in the woods near a liquor store across the street from Apex K9 on North Main Street, Flipp said.

Immediately, Flip called his volunteers at work and told them to go help. Flipp says before his volunteers got there DD was untied and not responding to police, but she was responding to his team. Apex K9 was able to lure DD into a car…
